About me

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog!
I’m Robert, passionate about life and deeply unsatisfied with the conventional answers to the questions life confronts us with. Many of you would probably love to make a difference yet things seem so complex and out of reach that it’s not even worth bothering, right?
My curiosity has led me to rebel against clichés such as that’s just the way things are or everything is relative. Just a quick example: is it really true that the suffering in the world is caused by innate human selfishness? We’ve heard that, but how true is it? Planet Earth is going through hard times. Change – which we all yearn for – will not come about with an improvement in the electoral programme of whichever party is standing for election, but with an evolutionary leap in our consciousness.
Whether I write about economics, politics, sex, drugs or sports, the aim of this blog is to disseminate and discuss ideas for individuals eager to open up their minds.
I was born in Barcelona (1985) to a Catalan-English family. My education is clearly humanistic: I studied Slavic Philology at the University of Vienna; later I did a masters in Translation and Conference Interpreting at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. As well as Catalan and Spanish, I’m fluent in English, German, French, Russian and Polish. I also have a basic knowledge of other languages such as Arabic and Serbian. Speaking several foreign languages and experiencing other cultures at very close quarters has stimulated my curiosity about what makes human beings tick.
Apart from writing, I love sports, acting and laughing my head off.
